Day 62: June 3, 2026
“This morning, the entire river was clear. I mean, this river here is about twice the size of the Mississippi in Minneapolis... All this ice just, like, disappeared... When it broke up, the blocks, it was so powerful. It just disintegrated everything.”
Day 61: June 2, 2026
“This whole river that was open is this massive amount of ice, kind of a shore to shore. It's coming down, moving... it was absolutely quite a phenomenon. I mean, I got my money's worth on this one..”
Day 60: June 1, 2026
“On these hairpin curves, there's water that flows down in the winter, this overflow. So in this case, this overflow was really thick... around 15, 16 feet. And that's what's really holding now all this ice behind it, this thicker ice...”
Day 59: May 31, 2026
“On the other shore was this incredibly huge grizzly bear... I shot a bear banger across. Big explosion. He didn't hardly even hesitate...”
Day 58: May 30, 2026
“There's still going to be a lot of high adventure coming in tomorrow when I do get on the river... miles-wise, I think it's a good 110, 120 miles. And that's dodging a lot of ice along the way.”
Day 57: May 29, 2026
“Huge amount of ice, both shores, you know, six to ten feet of ice on both sides of the river... Now what's happening are these huge pieces are popping up from the bottom of the river. So you're dealing with these huge blocks, and they block the river.”
Day 56: May 28, 2026
“… the entire river upstream, I think, broke up. Massive amount of ice.”
Day 55: May 27, 2026
“The ice dam above my camp broke about three hours ago, which was quite dramatic... and this whole thing was coming my way here. And the water went up about almost three feet, went right up to the fire pit.”
