Self-Reliance is a Core Value
The Steger Center is completely off the grid. Solar panels provide all of the necessary electricity.
Many of the building materials for the Center come from the land or from recycled sources.
Wood is harvested and milled each year. No construction materials are wasted. Recycled wood is carefully cleaned and put back to use for architectural accents.
Away from the lights, where the stars shine brighter.
The Center is located in a Dark Sky sanctuary, one of twelve locations in the world and only four in the United States. Experience an unpolluted night sky.
