Day 4: April 6, 2026
“The four of them were checking out my trail, kind of stomping down on it and trying to figure out what this was that they were looking at... Caribou are that way, they're really curious.“
Day 3: April 5, 2026
“So the rivers in alluvial material like that always meander back and forth. So it takes a lot of effort to get straight line mileage in. The snow is up to my knees.“
Day 2: April 4, 2026
"What's really noticeable here in my environment is the invigorating fresh air. It's just incredible ... almost like a cold liquid when you're breathing, and it's really inspiring."
Day 1: April 3, 2026
"The night is about four or five hours of darkness right now. It's rapidly turning into 24 hour lights... I'll be north of the Arctic Circle on the whole expedition."
Flying with Dave Olesen
“In other words, between here and in his homestead, there's nothing for that 200 miles.”
To Yellowknife
“When we arrived in Yellowknife only eight of the nine bags arrived, so, the adventure is starting pretty early here.”
Travel to Winnipeg
“For 25 years of the dogsled expeditions, going north, we always stopped at Steinbach.”
