Land Use Acknowledgement

As Will enters the traditional territory of the Sahtu Dene and Métis people, he offers the following in recognition of those peoples and their stewardship of their lands.

From Will

I would like to begin by acknowledging that the land on which I travel is the traditional territory of the Sahtu Dene and Métis people, including the K’ásho Got’ı̨nę, Délı̨nę Got’ı̨nę, and Tulít’a Got’ı̨nę. I recognize their enduring connection to this land, the waters, and the wildlife of the Sahtu region, which has nourished them for generations. I pay my respects to Elders past and present, and honor their stewardship of this territory from time immemorial.
