Day 22: April 24, 2026

Today’s brief dispatch describes a day off for getting a wash and a reset, the first non-weather-related rest day in over a week.

  • Hello, Will here. It's March 24th, day 22. I took the day off today. I was getting a little tired. First real non-weather day off I had in about 10 days or so, I think. And so I just need to take a break here and get some things done. I got a good wash in and usually what you do, you know, get your equipment and get everything cleaned up. Today was kind of just a mediocre day. It got up to about 8 or 9 degrees. A few clouds came in and it cleared off. And now it's kind of hazy out there. And not super cold, though, right now. And probably having a day as usual tomorrow. But, yeah, not to report in too much here. I'm on fuel rations. So I'm sitting in the tent here. It got pretty warm today in the tent. So it was pretty nice. And it's really nice taking a day off like this on an expedition. In my work-a-day, real work, I take Sundays off usually. But I don't get a complete day off. I don't have commitments or responsibilities and so forth. So it was just nice to be able to lay around the tent today. And I took a nap. I made up some ... a big batch of rice for the week. Got everything settled. But it's pretty mellow here and not too much going on. And we'll see what happens tomorrow. So this is Will here. I just had a quick day today. March 24th, day 22. Over and out. Bye-bye.

On this rest day, the position is unchanged from the previous two days. Visit Will’s interactive map for complete control of magnification and orientation.

On a day off, the tent becomes the environment for the day. This video offers an inside view of how Will likes to set up and organize his space.
